Celebration Fall Lacrosse Season!!

The Celebration Girls Lacrosse Club is thrilled to announce a name change to eventually include a boys division! We will be know as The Celebration Lacrosse Club. Greg Roberts, a college lax goalie and youth coach, has signed on to help grow the Club. Vickie Harvey will continue through the Fall season as Club Administrator and then hand the reins over to Greg.

We begin practice for girls on Tuesday, September 14, at the East Village Field, from 5:00-7:00PM. We will practice on Tuesdays and Thursdays until November 18. We will also practice from 10-12:00 on Saturday mornings or play other Lax Clubs in officiated games.
Greg and Vickie are both US Lacrosse certified coaches and have extensive playing and coaching experience. Our coaching philosophy, is not a "win at all costs" focus. Instead we focus on positive personal and athletic development through positive feedback and the learning of strong fundamental skills. And above all, we stress FUN! :nod:

Bowling alley/arcade planned near Arabian Nights on 192

A local firm is moving forward with the redevelopment of a former water park along Osceola County’s struggling tourist corridor, U.S. Highway 192. Plans call for building up to 75,000 square feet of entertainment and office space on 6 acres at the Shoppes of Celebration mixed-use development near Celebration Avenue.

Celebration Mania Investors LLC, an entity related to retail development firm Intram Investments LLC, originally planned to build a 294-room hotel/condo hotel on the site, but last month got approval from the county to change that to an entertainment/office complex. Intram Investments Vice President Randy Hodge said a local investment group he declined to name has the 6.3-acre entertainment/office site under contract for purchase for an undisclosed price and plans to build a $3 million bowling alley and arcade.

The work resurgence is welcome news for the county and surrounding businesses, especially as that particular site has been quiet since Orlando-based Intram Investments bought it for $19.5 million in 2005, tore down the former Water Mania water park and motel, began redevelopment and then sold off portions of it to various developers.

The economy’s decline and ensuing real estate slowdown hurt many businesses during the last few years. For example, the Kissimmee/St. Cloud submarket posted a nearly 9.8 percent retail vacancy rate in the second quarter, compared with 9.6 percent for the year-ago period. The average asking lease rate was $18.46 per square foot in the second quarter versus $19.40 in the year-earlier quarter.

Celebration Pop Star Camp

Do you know the words to every Taylor Swift song? Can't get enough of Miley, Britney, or Beyonce? Are you a fan of shows such as Wizards of Waverly Place, Hannah Montana, iCarly, and Sonny with a Chance? If so, let Platinum bring out the Pop Star in you. A fun filled week of music, dance, crafts, and games will make this a summer event to remember!

Our special summer camp programs provide a great opportunity for your dancer to learn basic technique in a fun, creative setting. Each session will feature different content and choreography. Participants must wear proper dance attire and shoes. Light snacks and all materials are included. Full day campers must bring a bag lunch. Parents, stop in the last 15 minutes on Friday for a short performance. Be sure to bring your cameras!

For Ages 6-12.

SUMMER CAMP TUITION (due before the first day of camp ):
Half Day: 9:00am - 12:00pm
• 1st Session per Student/Family is $120.00
• 2nd Session per Student/Family is $95.00
• 3rd Session (and all subsequent sessions) is/are $85.00 per Student/Family
• Daily Rate: $35/per student/per day

Full Day: 9:00am - 5:00pm
• 1st Session per Student/Family is $220.00
• 2nd Session per Student/Family is $195.00
• 3rd Session (and all subsequent sessions) is/are $185.00 per Student/Family
• Daily Rate: $55/per student/per day

BROADWAY BOUND: July 26th - 30th

Your budding Broadway star will be immersed in classic Broadway musicals for an exciting week of singing, acting, and dancing. They will learn songs, work on choreography, study plot lines and characters, view video clips, act out scenes, and create props/sets.

GLEE: August 2nd - 6th

Inspired by the hit FOX television series, be part of an amazing week of song and dance. We'll be mixing up pop and Broadway hits to create a fantastic GLEE-style performance.

CHEER/TUMBLE: August 9th - 13th

Learn skills and tips that will help you prepare for try-outs at any level! Not trying out this year? Get experience to prepare for next year…or just come to have fun learning cheers, chants, and dances!
