The Employment Network of Central Florida (ENCF) is looking for businesses who are hiring, or have HR staff who are willing to discuss hiring practices, to take part in the Employment Expo at the Family Cafe. Last year ~8000 people attended the Family Cafe, a statewide event for individuals with disabilities and their families. This year they are putting an emphasis on employment. The event will be June 3-5, 2011.

Normally, companies who get booths at the Family Cafe pay $1200 per booth at Disney's Coronado Springs Resort Convention Center. If your company participates in the Employment Expo, there will be no charge for your booth. They are looking for companies that hire individuals with disabilities who will be willing to coach job-seekers on what characteristics human resource managers are looking for in good employees. Supported Employment specialists and benefits counselors will also be there to help families understand the job search, hiring process, and strategies for keeping a job.

Send me a message here, or e-mail to teresa_doolittle@apd.state.fl.us, and I will put you in touch with the organizers of the Employment Expo.
